I sit on the lowest branch
Of the cherry blossom tree
Singing a summer song
Until children come, two or three
They shoo me away
With their loud sounds of fun
The swings, skates and games
Under the beautiful summer sun.
Until dusk shows its face
I hide in the forest
But, now since the moon has risen
It is time to go back and rest
An owl sits on my branch
So comfortably he lay
I tried changing the situation
But he too shooed me away
I live my life in hiding
And crawl slowly
Under a maple leaf
I guess the biggest wins, after all.
